An ancient estate in the heart of the Chianti Classico
ARCENO

Arceno is a century-old property that emanates history and beauty. It is located in the heart of Tuscany in the Sienese Chianti area, between Florence and Siena and stretches over thousand hectares.
Arceno has flourished again from the 90ties thanks to a recovery plan conceived by enlightened entrepreneurs. The recovery of the area was carried out starting as from the second half of the 90ties until today's date.
Among the architectural works on the property of particular value is the historic Villa dating from the seventeenth century with the Romantic Park (Parco Romantico) and the Chapel of Saint John (Cappella di San Giovanni).
The Park and the two tree-lined alleys with double rows of cypress trees are protected by law because of their high value and uncommon beauty, in particular because of the abundance and old age of the flora in the park and the pond and picturesque aspect of the two cypress tree alleys. These trees intersect orthogonally indicating the access to the main Villa in a spectacular way.
The agricultural activity is carried out by the Estate of Arceno (Tenuta di Arceno) whose main business is vine-growing taking respectfully care of the area. Besides producing excellent wine, the vineyards in Arceno are of particular scenic beauty.
In Arceno there is a faunal hunting reserve run by the Estate that contributes to protect the abundance and beauty of the area. It is not uncommon to encounter fawns, prickets, hares and wild boars that live undisturbed in the woods of Arceno.
The over thirty farmhouses scattered over the property, today renovated for the most part, have the typical features of the Tuscan architecture. Once they were homes of the farmers, today they are private permanent properties or used for the owners' holidays.
